The meeting commenced with Tuku Bandopadhyay giving us a preview of the website she is designing for the Sahitya Premir Asar. The impressive website will hold useful and interesting information about the Asar’s members, their writings and minutes of meetings etc.

Decisions made

The website will have a logo for the Asar and a suitable photo or painting that represents the Asar and its activities.

Dipankar Sen Gupta has a suitable photo which would be appropriate for the cover page of the website. Debasis will modify this picture into a suitable format for Tuku Boudi to insert it in the website.

All members are requested to send in a brief description of themselves in Bangla and English to Tuku Boudi for the website.

The Asar will meet at 8 pm on the last Friday of every month. Members are to note this date in their calendars. If particular member/members are unable to attend, the other members will still meet on this specified day each month.

The meetings will be a forum where members can read their writings in Bangla or English. Articles, essays, poetry etc on any topic are welcome. Alternatively, discussions on topics of interest, book or film reviews can be initiated by the Sahitya Premis.

As there are currently 10 members, it was decided that 4 specific members will be nominated at each meeting to present their literary work or discussions at the next meeting.

Anyone, who wishes to send in their literary work, or topics of their discussion before the meeting date, enabling other members to prepare or read up for the Asar, may do so.
